Next Day Better + LA: Food for Thought: Filipino Tastemakers

  On Saturday, August 8th, 2015 we had the honor and privilege to share our Social Products Filipino small-scale farmer advocacy + Mindanao rice demo sampling with the community at the Next Day Better + LA's third annual event, "Food for Thought: Filipino Tastemakers," at The Well in downtown LA. With many influencers in the burgeoning Filipino Food Movement scene in LA, such as Eggslut & Ramen Champ Chef/Owner Alvin Cailan, LASA popup, Rice Bar LA, Kristine de la Cruz, owner of Créme Caramel, Kathleen Reyes of Thecavery.com, and The Park's Finest; among others, the positive energy and vibes at this sold out event was pretty contagious. April 2015 Events

During the last week in April we had the privilege of being invited to share our advocacy to empower Filipino farmers and share our Mindanao black rice in three pretty cool events with like-minded folks. The first was the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles' "The Future of the Philipines," the second was Social Enterprise LA Chapters' "The Staying Power of Your Social Enterprise," and last but not least was the "Kababayan Konference: Mga Babae Ng Bayan - Wom*n at the Forefront" by the Kababayan student group at UCI (University of California Irvine). Our Journey: The precursor to Social Products: SocialProject.PH

Prior to launching Social Products Black Rice, we founded SocialProjectPH, a crowdfunding for social good projects in the Philippines as a way to address poverty and one real need of social enterprises, access to funding.
